True Demeray
In an upper room of a local tavern, a little boy finds solace in a bottle of ink as he tries to make sense of what happened. He can’t resurrect his father, heal his mother, or go back home. Nor can he find a way to make his new friend stay. Life as he knew it has been shattered, and all he can do is dip his little finger into the ink and distract himself with dots, a perfect row of dots dabbed neatly across the floor…
This is True Demeray, and he’s not exactly an ordinary child.
While True does not speak, our main character soon finds out there may be good reason. The boy possesses a knowing that is well beyond his age. He seems to have an uncanny understanding of everything – and everyone – around him, making him wary of strangers.
Behind those large, dark, brown eyes there are steep calculations; deciding whether to trust you, like you, or even judge you.
And yet, it is this same gift that allows True to sense what others need, and provide for those needs without uttering a word.
Earning his trust is difficult – but not impossible.
While True may be one of the youngest characters in our upcoming adventure, he’s not someone to overlook. With his silence, his antics may not steal your attention – but they will steal your heart.
